Almost all the nations have enacted laws to protect an organization’s interest and concern towards its interest in protecting its confidential information. You may have observed in many movies and many serials that almost all security agencies like FBI has a separate unit to counter-attack the threat to their information assets. Having given a gist about the legal issues around the information security now let us move on the ethical issues.
There are varied ideas of ethical behaviours across organizations towards the concept of information security. The first and foremost thing that complicates this situation is the ethical differences across cultures. Studies proves that in some countries the awareness towards security is more whereas other do not even know what it is all about. Under that condition of no proper idea of the technology, how is it possible for them to know the ethical issues? Many are not even aware of the software licence information. Many are available in the pirated form. Still certain class of people believe that this is legal since their government does nothing about it. Using corporate resources must also be put around serious ethical issues.
