Small Home DecorOne of the most common problems when decorating is the problem of lack of space. If you want to solve this here are a series of basic tips you should consider. Follow these tips for decorating small houses and make your home look as good as other more spacious.

The furnishings play a vital role in our home. Therefore, if you have a small space, do not choose too large sofas. Are difficult to move, take up more space and make the environment seem more crowded. The small furniture will be the best alternative. An armless chair or low table not limits both the space. In addition, a sofa-bed can be deployed overnight to operate as a bed.

The arrangement of furniture is another thing to consider. Put that largest furniture (e.g. sofa) against the longest wall of the room. Also, keep furniture away from traffic areas to avoid tripping while walking.

Lighting is another important factor when decorating small rooms. It should be decorated so that space expands. The ceiling lights are not the best option. Soft lighting is preferred by lamps placed in strategic locations. Beyond the natural light lighting also plays a key role when delineating the space. Open windows during the day to allow more light.

At the time of paint you choose soft colors like white or cream. You can also opt for cool tones like blue or soft green. Mirrors reflect light and, therefore, are a factor to give more sense of space. The use of mirrors is good advice to be applied in confined spaces. It uses a minimum number of accessories to avoid clutter.

One last tip, but not least, is to keep our house in order. Keep everything organized in cabinets and drawers. Note that the extent to which the minimum clear space is given a greater sense of space.

Retro DecorStarting today, every week with special items to update on the retro decor for your home. Do you like the old? Are you a lover of the 50, 60 or 70? Then do not miss the following columns! They give you the best advice for your home decorating retro style.

Let’s start with the main question: what is the retro decor? It is that style of decoration characterized by a return of the designs of the past. It is inspired by the 50s, 60s and 70s and as a result produces an interesting combination between new and old.

The retro decorating style is characterized by the use of bright colors and contrasts. Corduroy, synthetics and geometric shapes such as circles or rectangles are a must if we want to adapt this style to our home.

One of the first question you should ask is, what color should I paint the walls? Let’s see. The retro style is based on combination of brown, ivory and browns. It also uses pastel colors. Mixtures of turquoise and fuchsia (as well as lime green) with classic psychedelic prints. The yellow, mustard, orange, brown are also the colors of this style.

The 50s and 60s were characterized by rounded edges equipment (just a matter of remembering the classic chillers that time). Try to keep your gear (or even your furniture) also have rounded edges. Chromium is one of the material par excellence. Refrigerators, countertops and chairs of this material will give a hint to your home for the past forty or fifty years ago.

At the time of getting all these elements can visit flea markets and antique shops. Through the Internet, of course, we can also get various products of this era.

It is important to clarify that a good retro decor is based on the balance. If we exceed our home we can give a look too cliche or (even worse for my taste, kitsch). The way to achieve truly unique spaces is perfectly join the old with the modern.

Over the next few weeks the retro decor continue to deserve our attention. Next begin to focus on each specific area of the house. At the end of the road we discovered, how to make an interesting retro style to our bedroom, our kitchen, kids bedroom and bath. Interesting, right?
